BJW, 01/02/17

- Tsutomu Oosugi, Hercules Senga & Atsushi Maruyama (FREE) vs. Jaki Numazawa, Shu Brahman & Kei Brahman

The Brahman bros are back, which means more water. They bring buckets out and just soak the audience. The crowd eat this up, so they steal people's bottles of water and soak them again, which they love. Bizarre. They do a spot where they steal some bags and coats from the audience and soak them by spitting water at them, which gets huge applause.

There's also a section where Numazawa keeps doing low blows but when he does the bros ring the match bell, which is pretty funny.

Ends with Numazawa getting the pin with a Small Package on Senga. [OK]

- Shinobu (666) vs. Tatsuhiko Yoshino

The last time we saw Shinobu he was taking dick pics with Yoshinos selfie stick, which of course, leads to a match.

Yoshino is the young rookie and he doesn't want to piss off the veteran Shinobu. There's a lot of comedy at the start but Shinobu gets bored and starts to kick the shit out of young Yoshino. Then it ratchets up a notch and turns into a really good match.

Shinobu wins with the S.E.X. (moonsault)  [Good]

- Ryota Hama (FREE), Daichi Hashimoto & Hideyoshi Kamitani vs. Kazuki Hashimoto, Kazumi Kikuta & Takuya Nomura

Hama is so fat it's painful to watch him move, he even does the Rikishi bum rush move. More impressed with Daichi as his kicks and elbows look fucking painful. Ends when Daichi hits a Shining Wizard on Tanya which actually looks like it knocks his jaw out. [OK]

Barbed-wire Board + Bring Your Own Weapons Deathmatch: Abullah Kobayashi, Takayuki Ueki & Masaya Takahashi (ASUKA) vs. Masashi Takeda (U-FILE), Takumi Tsukamoto (BASARA) & Toshiyuki Sakuda

Ueki and Takahashi look like they've come straight from the IWA deathmatch '95 with their jeans and kneepads over the top. Abdullah gets kebab skewers pushed into his head and then he gets drilled into the mat whilst they're stuck in his head. Urgh. Then Takeda and Tsukamoto get skewered.

Match ends when Ueki pins sakuda after a death valley bomb. After the match Ueki and Takahashi get skewered! This was a deathmatch where nothing mattered, so everyone got to do some spots, there was nothing crazy dangerous which makes you take a sharp intake of breath, and everyone got out alive [OK]

- Saburo Inematsu Last BJW Match ~ Fluorescent Light-tube 6 Man Tag Deathmatch: Ryuji Ito, Yuko Miyamoto (666) & Isami Kodaka (BASARA) vs. Kankuro Hoshino, Saburo Inematsu (K-DOJO) & Ryuichi Sekine (BASARA)

This is the same day that Miyamoto and Kodaka already worked two matches for AJPW! And now they're in a deathmatch...

Standard light tube spots, nothing crazy. Although Kodaka gets a nasty cut by his eye as he's constantly messing with it. Lot of offense directed at Inematsu with it being his farewell tour. I'm not too high on Ito but his frog (dragon) splash is one of the best. He pins Hoshino after hitting it. [OK]

~ Following the deathmatch, a new ring mat was unveiled. It more or less has the BJW logo over a Japanese flag in the middle of the ring

- Ryuichi Kawakami & Yasufumi Nakanoue (FREE) vs. Hideki Suzuki (FREE) & Yoshihisa Uto

Some nice moves in this, mostly lariats. Ends with a lariat on Nakanoue after just getting dumped on his head. [OK]
- BJW Tag Championship Match: Kohei Sato (ZERO1) & Shuji Ishikawa (FREE) vs. Daisuke Sekimoto & Yuji Okabayashi

Holy shit, this gonna be a good one. Massive man crush on Okabayashi and Sekimoto and the twin towers are nothing to sniff at.

This match is amazing. After two deathmatches where people were getting skewered and kicked in the face with light tubes, if you can make a crowd go nuts for simple suplexes, then you are doing something right.

Match starts off slow with wristlocks, but what is normally just a stalling move, here, it looks bloody painful. After that we get the power MOVEZ! Lots of lariats and suplexes. Sekimoto gets headbutted so many times, the last one just makes his forehead explode. Blood everywhere. He hits a lariat and then with the slowest Deadlift German Suplex Hold on Ishikawa, gets the pin after 20 mins.

Highly, highly recommend match. I've seen some people rate it ****1/2 and I wouldn't argue with that. [Excellent]

I've revised my rating of the show after going back to it as I think I was influenced the main event. I would only watch the Twin Towers match as the rest is easily skipped and nothing is lost.
